Auditory memory causes "noises in the head", according to a study

Well, this is what has led researchers at the University of Calgary (Canada) and the Hannover Medical School (Germany) to pursue the subject. Scientists have thus been able to determine why these occur ringing in the ears, as published in Hearing Research.

 

To do this, they reviewed evidence of the development of tonotopic maps (distribution of frequencies of the sounds received in the ear to the brain) in animals. They found that the occurrence of tinnitus somatotopic arrangement requires an established and used, leading to the formation of the corresponding somatic memory.
