Music therapy in addictions

Music therapy in addictions
Notes healing body and soul

[...] "Music never expresses the phenomenon, but only the intimate essence, the" whether "of all phenomena; in a word, the will itself. What is intimate and inexpressible in all music, which gives us a quick overview and passing a paradise for family and inaccessible time, we understand and yet could not explain, is that it lends itself to deep and deaf agitations of our it being out of reality and therefore without suffering. [...] There are two corresponding in music, major and minor tonalities general, the sharp and flat, and is almost always one or the other. But in truth Is not it strange that there is a sign to express the pain, without being physically painful, even for conviction and yet so expressive that no one can mistake: the flat? Therefore it can be measured how deep music penetrates the intimate nature of man and things. [...] Arthur Schopenhauer - Love, women and death.
If it is true that music is able to interfere in the depths of the soul of a human being corner, it is no wonder that for centuries and is raised as a therapeutic tool. Because music is much more than a succession of notes, the music touches the hidden feeling, inspired writing, eludes a particular time when a song played in the background, hate or passion, but music always has an effect. Learn to channel this effect is listening to or creating music with instruments and direct it for therapeutic purposes, it may help to connect with each other in a way that rarely happens same.
And a few thousand years ago, the Egyptians themselves emulated that music could produce a spell that would improve female fertility. And in this same culture, the Thot God created the world through his singing. Although possibly most similar to music therapy is now known, is the use that the Greeks did the same, as used to prevent physical and mental illness. But the true precursor of music therapy, as we know it today, was Emile Jacques Dalcroze in 1900-1950, who held that the human organism is susceptible to be educated under the impulse of music.
Thus in 1950 the first National Association for Music Therapy in the United States, which was implemented in hospitals for veterans during the First World War was created. And that was the true seed of what today is known as music therapy.

Music Therapy according to the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) is the "clinical use and evidence-based music in an intervention to achieve individualized results within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has conducted and completed a program Music Therapy ".

The usefulness goes far beyond the type dictionary definition: "The effectiveness for us is to moments of creation and change. In our music therapy practice we consider the subject as a point of intersection of speeches. [...] The speeches can be constructed from any language, either verbal or non-verbal. And from them we create maps of the phenomenon, we thought possible strategies and intervene in the territory where the interaction between music therapist and patient open a moment of symbolic efficacy "argues Maria Victoria Vivas in his doctoral thesis on" Music Therapy and Addictions' published in 2003. He adds Maria Veronica Garnier citing its 'Project Music Therapy for Mental Health Service Hospital Provincial de Rosario': "it is here that one can conceive the creative act as appearance of something hitherto not I had heard, thought, evoked ... resignifying experienced what to avoid relapse stereotyping and its future in an impoverishment of personality ".
