Auditory memory causes
"noises in the head", according to a study
Again, the brain is

experts in the auditory
system researchers have succeeded in identifying the root cause of tinnitus.
According to the study, these annoying "head noises" occur due to the
existence of an auditory memory that is formed in our brain. Therefore, people
with congenital deafness or tinnitus not suffer from "tinnitus"
because at no time have perceived that allow them to generate sounds that
memory. By Anabel Parama.
Probably everyone at some
point in our lives we heard a noise, a beep or a buzz in our ears without there
being an external sound that occurs. Suddenly they are no longer.
However, a percentage of
the population (between 10 and 15%) continually hear this annoying noise; and
does not stop at any time. For them, there is silence and noise reaches significantly
alter their quality of life.
These noises are the
tinnitus. They constitute a little-known condition and a serious health problem
that perhaps we do not pay the attention it deserves. Tinnitus can cause sleep
disturbances, anguish, anxiety and even depression. Cause a sense of madness
when they are very intense.
By day, the internal
noises are less noticeable since the external noises fade away. However, the
drama comes when it gets dark. The silence intensifies, and the internal noise
becomes more noticeable, which prevents the patient conceived sleep. This gets
nervous, she suffers from insomnia, and eventually enter a dynamic that affects
other aspects of your health.
Well, this is what has
led researchers at the University of Calgary (Canada) and the Hannover Medical
School (Germany) to pursue the subject. Scientists have thus been able to
determine why these occur ringing in the ears, as published in Hearing
Research.
To do this, they reviewed
evidence of the development of tonotopic maps (distribution of frequencies of
the sounds received in the ear to the brain) in animals. They found that the
occurrence of tinnitus somatotopic arrangement requires an established and
used, leading to the formation of the corresponding somatic memory. The lack of
such experience explains the absence of tinnitus in bilateral and unilateral
congenital deafness
